Shangombo district council directed to utilize the CDF
Shangombo, May 19th , 2013,ZANIS——Sinjembela UPND area member of parliament Poniso Njeulu has direct Shangombo district council to urgently clear the 2012 Constituency Development Funds (CDFs) currently in the Account.
Mr. Njeulu disclosed during a meeting with civil servants that Shangombo district council is among the 25 council in country dubbed to receive these years CDF funds.
ZANIS reports that the area MP , who is also Information and Broadcasting Deputy minister , said this during a meeting he held with the council officials at the civic center.
He further stated that the CDF funds will only be made available to the council once the council clears last years out standing CDF funds.
Mr. Njeulu said projects are pending hence the need for the council to hastily clear the accounts.
He said the council can only embark on new projects in the district once the 2013 CDF funds are made available.
Mr. Njeulu cited the construction of roads as some of the projects that the CDF funds will go towards.
