-President Michael Sata has urged freedom fighters to respect First Republican President, Kenneth Kaunda, for uniting the nation.

Mr Sata also asked the freedom fighters to respect Dr Kaunda for coming up with the ‘One Zambia, One Nation’ motto.

He was speaking when he met 20 freedom fighters from Chinsali District at State House in Lusaka today.

The President thanked the group for paying him a visit at State House.

And speaking earlier, group representative, Samson Chifwamba, commended government under the leadership of Mr Sata for creating Muchinga Province.

Mr Chifwamba also thanked government for developing the area, saying the previous governments never did so.

He cited the putting up of road infrastructure and the construction of of two universities as a good step in the right direction.

Mr Chifwamba also noted that the Patriotic Front (PF) government has lived up to its promises by ensuring that education in the country is uplifted.

Meanwhile, Mr Chifwamba has called on Fr Frank Bwalya to go back to Chinsali to be counselled so that he could go back to priesthood.

He said after being counselled, Fr Bwalya would learn to relate and respect elderly people.

Mr Chifwamba has noted that Fr Bwalya has lost track of how to relate with elderly people in society, hence the need for him to go back to Chinsali for counselling from ‘Alangizi and ‘Bana Chimbusa’.

A total of the 20 freedom fighters was being led by Chinsali District Commissioner, Everlyn Kangwa.
