Limata advises women to unite
Solwezi, May 14, ZANIS ———- Deputy Minister of Gender and Child Development Josephine Limata has urged women in North-Western province to unity and support the government of the day if they are to benefit from the empowerment programs aimed at improving their lives.
Ms Limata said women in the province must support the Patriotic Front (PF) government and focus on issues that will uplift their living standards rather than mare politicking.
The Deputy Minister was speaking when she presented nine (9) cheques to different women clubs in Solwezi yesterday.
Ms Limata emphasized that women must show pro-activeness and unity in their organizations if they are to attract government’s support to fund their projects.
“As women you must stand up and be counted, don’t allow men to undermine you. Unit and support each other in all you do to improve your lives,” she advised.
Ms Limata has since called for prudent use of money donated to women organizations saying it must be used for its intended purpose.
Beneficiaries of the donated cheques were Chimwenu, Hope kimasala, Kimasala Disabled, World day of prayer, Kabilolo, Kabisapi, Mutanda, Twasanta and Mufukushi women clubs involved in small enterprise businesses such as poultry, peanut butter making, and knitting among others.
