Completed bridges impresses DC
Kasama May 13, ZANIS —— The construction works of six bridges at a cost of over KR 1.6 million in Kasama district has been completed.
And Kasama District Commissioner Kalanga Bwalya has expressed happiness over the development.
Mr Bwalya said this when he and Northern province Rural Road Unit Senior Roads Inspector Maisense Zulu inspected the finished bridges over the weekend.
He has since commended Rural Road Unit (RRU) for their good works on the construction of the bridges.
Mr Bwalya disclosed that government wants to improve the welfare of people especially those living in rural areas through working on the crossing points.
And Kasakula residents in Kasama have commended government for constructing a bridge across Kalya Bana River.
A representative for the residents, Berverly Lunshano said people in the area especially school going children used to find difficult to cross the river when there was no bridge.
Ms Lushano however said the new bridge will enable the local people transport their farm produce to the market easily.
Among the bridges that were worked on are Kalyabanana, Itimbwe and Chanda mwamba bridges.
Others are Chikosho, Kanongonogo and Chitamba bridges respectively.
