– Gender and Child Development Minister Inonge Wina says her ministry has submitted a document to cabinet requesting for structure support in districts and provinces.
Ms Wina was hopeful that before the end of this year Treasury will grant authority to employee supporting stuff.
She explained that currently her ministry has no supporting staff at district and provincial level but, once authority is granted the ministry will spread out to all parts of the country.
Ms Wina said officers once employed will play an important role of coordinating gender activities.
The minister explained that the officers will work as focal persons in spear heading gender matters.
Ms Wina was responding to the concern raised by Choma District Commissioner Golden Nyambe when she paid a courtesy on him.
Mr Nyambe wanted to know when the Ministry of Gender will be sending an officer to the district.
Mr Nyambe revealed to the minister that Choma district has no officer to coordinate gender activities.
