Labour ministry mourns senior staffer
Solwezi, May 9, ZANIS ——-Labour Commissioner, Cecilia Kamanga has described the death of North-Western Province Senior Labour Officer, Ignatius Chitalu Kaoma as a big blow in an already under staffed ministry.
Ms Kamanga said it will be very difficult to bridge the gap Mr Kaoma has left because the Ministry of Labour is very thin on the ground yet faced with a very mammoth task especially in Solwezi that is experiencing huge economic development.
Ms Kamanga said this in Solwezi today during the burial of Mr Kaoma who died in a road traffic accident in Solwezi.
Speaking at the same occasion, North-Western province Permanent Secretary, Augustine Seyuba said Mr Kaoma was very instrumental in addressing labour matters in the province during the short period he has been in the province.
Mr Seyuba said the province has a lot of challenges on labour matters arising from huge economic activities following the opening of the big mines.
Late Mr Kaoma has only served in the province for less than nine months following his transfer from Kasama on promotion last year.
