THE Football Association of Zambia says it will take disciplinary action against Zanaco coach Keagan Mumba for putting the name of the game into disrepute.
Mumba has earlier been criticizing the national wide talent search saying that they should continue with the development through the junior national teams like Under 17, Under 20 and Under 23 rather than going the whole country looking for talent.
The 2011 Under-20 Cosafa winning coach said there was no need to rush for fresh legs that has no quality, but advised FAZ to instead allow players that are in the developmental squads to graduate systematically in the senior team.
And the Zambia Football Coaches Association (Zafca) has advised its members countrywide to embrace the nationwide team selection process by FAZ.
FAZ general secretary George Kasengele said in an interview in Lusaka on Friday that the football body would take action against Mumba if his club, Zanaco failed to discipline him.
“We will take action now because it is not the first time that Keagan is attacking FAZ. He was quoted criticizing our recent trip to FIFA and now he is speaking against the nationwide trials by the Chipolopolo technical team. We cannot tolerate this behavior in football anymore, it has to stop. We will deal with the matter administratively and some action should be taken because this isn’t good for the game and coming from a coach who knows the rules of the game,” Kasengele said.
