——–Lack of police posts in rural areas of Siavonga district has forced the police to conduct mobile policing.
Police officer in charge, Zenus Tembo, says that mobile policing is aimed at reducing crime in the rural areas.
Mr Tembo told ZANIS in an interview today that the officers in the district are applying pro-active methods in order to prevent crime and that they will arrest who will break the law.
He stated that the police do conduct mobile policing in Sianyolo and Chaanga among other villages in the district in an effort to curb crime in rural areas.
The officer in charge said police in the district are committed to provide high quality services to the resident both in rural and urban areas.
Recently, civic leaders in the district called on law enforcement agencies to set up police posts in rural areas to reduce the escalating levels of crime.
Mulimya Ward Councillor, Dickson Chileke, lamented over the increased levels of crime in his ward and called on government to quickly set up police posts in rural areas.
