Zambia’s Ambassador to the United States of America (USA) Palan Mulonda has disclosed that there was no Zambian who was affected by the Monday explosion in Boston area in that country.
Mr. Mulonda said his office was in touch with the Zambian community in Boston and it was established that all Zambians were safe.
This is contained in a press statement made available to ZANIS today by First Secretary for Press at the Zambian embassy in Washington DC, Patricia Littiya.
Ambassador Mulonda has also commended the Zambian community in Boston for working closely with his office and for swiftly informing him that all Zambians were safe.
Three people were killed and more than 170 were injured on Monday during the Boston Marathon race when two bombs exploded near the finishing line.
About 23,000 runners took part in the Boston Marathon race, which attracts more than 500,000 spectators along the streets of Boston.
