Govt. fight against graft intensive- Sichone
Chipata,March 27, 2013,ZANIS… Eastern province minister Malozo Sichone says the fight against corruption in the country is intensive and challenging.
Mr. Sichone said that this was as result of the high level of corruption which has almost affected every sector including the church and traditional set ups.
ZANIS reports that the minister said this during the political hour programme on radio breeze FM last evening in Chipata district in eastern province.
He said that government will not relent to curb corruption as it was retarding development in the country.
And Mr. Sichone has dismissed allegations that the fight against corruption is targeted at certain individuals, while others are being left to run scot free.
“The Patriotic Front government will not rest until the levels of corruption are reduces, no one is above the law, “he said
And the Minister said that the PF government has reviewed its policies to ensure that it delivers development to Zambians and reduce the high levels of poverty.
Mr. Sichone further explained government’s commitment to improving the state of roads, building more schools and improving the agriculture sector in the province.
He said that government was aware of the congestion in most schools in the province adding that the problem will soon be addressed.
He has attributed the congestion in schools to failure by the Movement for Multi- Party Democracy (MMD) government to expand schools on time when they observed that the population was growing.
