Deputy Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services Mwansa Kapeya has urged Zambian journalists to massively cover the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) conference in August this year.

Mr. Kapeya said the UNWTO conference was important to Zambia because it would create massive investments thereby creating more job opportunities for the Zambian people.

He said local journalists should take advantage of the conference and market the country’s tourism potential to both local and international tourists.

He was speaking in Lusaka last evening when he hosted a dinner for delegates from the UNTWO offices in Madrid in Spain.

The delegation is in the country to conduct a series of training workshops for Zambian journalists ahead of the UNWTO which will be co-hosted by Zambia and Zimbabwe in August this year.

And Mr. Kapeya has expressed hope that the team from Madrid will impart quality journalistic skills on the Zambian journalists so that they are able to cover the important conference effectively.
