Relatives of a 31 year old mentally retarded woman of chief Sianjalika in Chikankata district have appealed to members of the public to assist them look for the insane woman who has gone missing with her two children aged between two and four years.
The children were under the custody of their grandmother but were snatched by their insane mother and have been missing for nearly two weeks now.
Mercury Chilala of Niec compound in Kalomo said the family is worried about the where-abouts of the minors as their mother feeds on anything she pounces on posing a risk to health of the innocent children.
The family also fears that the children could either be abducted or lose their lives in the process of being kept by their mentally retarded mother.
Ms Chilala who is a cousin to the insane woman told ZANIS Kalomo that the two children, Busiku 4, and Brian ,2 were snatched from their grandmother on March 6, in Mucheka village in Chikankata and a man-hunt to establish the where- abouts of Carolyn Mariana Muleya have proved futile.
She said the family was living in fear of the lives of the children as their mother can even kill reptiles such as snakes and eat them adding that she has a tendency of patronizing Mazabuka, Monze and Livingstone towns.
Ms Chilala appealed to members of the community to report any insane person that would be seen with two children to the nearest police station.
