Police in Kasama have arrested two people in connection with 2,500 fake united states dollars.
Northern province police commissioner Mary Chikwanda has confirmed the development to ZANIS in Kasama today.
Ms Chikwanda identified the duo as Moses Simfukwe ,25, a student at Kitwe teachers training college and Abraham Sinyali, 30 ,of New town in Kasama who is a Teacher at Chitwa basic school in Luwingu.
Ms Chikwanda said the two were apprehended at Machi spares after a tip off by the owner of the shop as they attempted to buy motor spare parts using fake dollars yesterday.
The two are remanded in police custody as investigations still going on.
In a separate incident, Ms Chikwanda also disclosed that police have recorded a case of drowning involving a 2 year old boy of Chipamo village in senior chief Mwamba’s area.
The deceased child has been identified as Chomba Mwenya who drowned in unclear circumstances in a water well.
Ms Chikwanda told ZANIS that the body of the boy has since been retrieved and that burial is being awaited.
