———- Government says it has made visible efforts through the provision of funds to all provinces for youth empowerment purposes.
Officiating at this year’s Commemoration of the Youth day in Mongu this morning, Mongu District Commissioner Morris Litula said youths should to take advantage of the skills centers available and acquire life vocational skills that will better their lives.
Mr Litula who represented the Provincial Secretary, advised youths in the province to take advantage of the Agriculture and Tourism sector potential for opportunities to do business.
Meanwhile a Youth Representative Memory Likolo said developmental plans aimed at putting up a modern stadium and University in the province will help uplift educational and sports skills for youths in the province.
Ms Likolo however called on Government and the Barotse Royal Establishment B-R-E to find a solution to their continued dispute on the Barotseland Agreement of 1964 as it is deterrent for government to deliver to youths in the province.
This Year’s Youth Day was celebrated under the theme: ‘Opportunity for Youth through Enterprise’.
