UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema has blamed the Mealie meal shortages being experienced in parts of the country on poor government policies.
Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka this morning, Mr. Hichilema said the government has failed to provide alternative leadership to the Zambians.
And Mr. Hichilema says people should blame the Patriotic Front government for creating unnecessary by elections by appointing opposition Members of Parliament into ministerial positions.
He says the UPND will stand by their principles on their MPs who have accepted ministerial appointments.
President Michael Sata recently appointed two UPND Members of Parliament as deputy Ministers bringing the number to four.
Sinjembela’s Poniso Njeulu and Kalabo central’s Chinga Miyutu were appointed deputy ministers in the ministry of information and broadcasting, and sports respectively.
