FRA releases KR 10 million for deport clerks’ salaries through out the country

Chipata, March 2nd, 2013, ZANIS —  Food Reserve Agency (FRA) Public Relation officer Michael Mazakaza says the Agency has released KR 10  million kwacha to clear all outstanding  salaries arrears to deport clerks across the country.

Mr. Mazakaza says that the money was meant to pay January salaries for depot clerks.

He disclosed the development to ZANIS in Chipata district in Eastern province in a telephone interview this morning.

The release of the funds comes amidst complaints from depot clerks in the province that the agency has not paid them their money since November last year.

“We are yet to make a break down to know how much would be released to eastern province, “he said.

And Mr Mazakaza has denied claims by depot clerks in the province that they have not been paid since November last year.

He confirmed that FRA owes depot clerks, payments for the month of January, saying they should be patient as the agency will soon clear their outstanding arrears.

On Wednesday depot clerks from various district in the province visited the Permanent Secretary’s office alleging that they have not been paid their salaries from November 2012.
