Govt. assures Mpongwe residents
Lusaka, February 25, ZANIS—Deputy Minister in the Office of the Vice President Davis Mwango has assured the people of Mpongwe that government has put strong measures to mitigate the problem of floods in the District.
Addressing a public rally to drum up support for the Patriotic Front (PF) candidate in the Mpongwe bye-elections Gabriel Namulambe at Kasamba Basic School Grounds in Mpongwe yesterday, Mr. Mwango said it was sad that issues of floods were not seriously dealt with in the recent past.
Mr. Mwango has since called on the people of Mpongwe to change their attitude and work with the government of the day in spearheading development in the area.
At the same rally, Home Affairs Deputy Minister Stephen Kampyongo urged the people of Mpongwe to vote for Mr. Namulambe as their area Member of Parliament in the February 28 bye-elections.
Mr. Kampyongo said Mr. Namulambe made the right decision to join PF saying the party has a clear manifested vision of improving people’s lives.
