Creation of new districts not political – Mubukwanu
Kabompo, February 25, ZANIS ——North-Western Province Minister, Nathaniel Mubukwanu says declaration of Manyinga as a district is not a mere political pronouncement but meant to take development closer to the people.
Mr Mubukwanu advised people of Manyinga and the province as whole not to accept being cheated by the opposition that the Patriotic Front government has no money to build new infrastructures in the newly created districts.
The Minister said this over the week-end when he addressed a series of meetings in Kabompo and Manyinga districts to drum up support for PF candidates participating in the forthcoming local government by-elections.
Mr Mubukwanu said the PF government will build modern infrastructures at Manyinga district headquarters to make it a model in the province.
He said that PF is a government for all provinces and all people and therefore will deliver development even to areas where people did not vote for the ruling party.
He further said that the PF government is using politics as a means to provide services and goods to the people especially the poor in order to improve their livelihood, generate employment for the unemployed and thereby putting more money in their pockets.
Mr Mubukwanu said Manyinga will have its own district hospital in addition to Loloma mission hospital.
Meanwhile, the minister has directed Manyinga District Commissioner to ensure that Zambia Electricity Supply Corporation (ZESCO) power line is connected to St Kalemba mission rural health centre.
He also said newly completed Kayombo Secondary School should be opened this year as 250 mattresses have already been delivered to the school.
Mr Mubukwanu added that government will also build a Science and Mathematics college in Kabompo.
He said it is time for people in the province to change their mindset and rally behind the PF government to speed up development in the area.
