–African Heads of State from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and Great lakes region are expected in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to sign a peace, security and Cooperation Framework tomorrow for Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the region.
Justice Minister, Wynter Kabimba, who will be representing President Michael Sata during the signing ceremony, is expected in Addis Ababa today.
This is contained in a statement issued to ZANIS today by First Secretary Press at the Zambian Embassy in Ethiopia, Dorcas Chileshe.
The framework is intended to bring lasting peace and stability to the war-torn Eastern DRC and the region as a whole.
The United Nations (UN), African Union (AU), SADC and the Great Lakes region have worked together to formulate the framework to strengthen other efforts already being implemented to address the conflict in Eastern DRC.
UN secretary General, Ban Ki-Moon and AU Commission Chairperson, Nkosazana Dlamina Zuma, will attend the signing ceremony.
