—-Paramount Chief Mpezeni of the Ngoni people in Eastern Province has asked MTN Zambia to improve its services in the province by erecting more towers.
Chief Mpezeni said he is happy that communication in the country is becoming easy although there is need for the mobile provider to increase its coverage in some parts of the province, such as Mulanga area of Chipata district.
The chief said this yesterday when MTN Zambia paid a courtesy call on him and
donated some items ahead of N’cwala annual traditional ceremony which takes place this weekend.
He said there is need to have network coverage in all the chiefdoms across the country.
The Paramount Chief has thanked MTN Zambia for supporting traditional ceremonies in the country like N’cwala of the Ngoni people as it is not easy for traditional leaders to host the
ceremony without the cooperating partners.
Paramount Chief Mpezeni urged the mobile service provider to continue helping
traditional ceremonies in the country.
The Ngoni people of Eastern Province will be celebrating their annual N’cwala traditional cerebrating at Mtenguleni of Chipata district this Saturday.
And speaking earlier MTN Zambia Public Relations officer, Eugine Phiri, said his company is passionate and believes in serving cultural heritage in the country and that it is inspired by the Paramount Chief Mpezeni.
Mr Phiri, who donated KR 30,000 on behalf of his company towards the N’cwala ceremony, said the mobile provider will continue supporting traditional ceremonies in the country as they play an important role in uniting the nation.
Mr Phiri also congratulated Paramount Chief Mpezeni as he will be celebrating his 30th anniversary as a chief.
