Mulobezi district has been cut off from Sesheke district by road due to high floods at Machile River on the MIO road.
Machile Bridge has been submerged and access to the school from the southern part of Machile river is only by dugout canoes.
Mulobezi District Commissioner, Charles Mwayanguba, confirmed the development to ZANIS in a telephone interview today.
Mr Mwayanguba complained that school going children have been negatively affected in that those who have no canoes cannot go to school.
The District Commissioner said he visited Machile River this morning and made undisclosed recommendations to the local community in order to help the children.
Machile River runs across Mulobezi Sesheke Road at Lipumpu area and floods every year.
