Govt. calls for speedy works on Namwala Gils Technical School
Livingstone, February, 18, 2013, ZANIS — Government has called for speedy works on two new high schools namely Namwala Technical Girls High School and Kazungula High Schools, respectively.
Southern Province Education Officer Martin Simatende says the contractors working on the water reticulation and sewer systems in the two named high schools need to speed up their works so that the schools in question could to improve enrolment levels in the province when they open doors to the public.
ZANIS reports that Mr. Samatende said this in an interview in Namwala, today. This was when he toured the two learning institutes which are under construction in the area.
“ It is important that all construction works on the high schools are completed soon so that more school spaces could be created, “ he said.
Technical Girls High School in Namwala and the sinking of boreholes at Kazungula High School were the only works that needed to be completed before the two schools are opened.
“I want to appeal to contractors working on water reticulation system and sewer lines to expedite works so that these two schools can be opened this year to increase enrolment levels in the province,” said Mr. Simatende.
On the part of Kazungula High School, Mr. Samatende said the quotation for drilling of boreholes has since been sent to Ministry and expressed hope that the drilling of boreholes would start soon.
