Copperbelt Province Minister Mwenya Musenge has said government will soon start constructing two clinics and two police posts in Kitwe’s Kawama and Kamatipa residential areas respectively.
The two projects will be undertaken using Constituency Development Funds (CDF).
Mr. Musenge, who is also the Member of Parliament for Chimwemwe in Kitwe where the two projects will be undertaken, said government will also work on the Government Road which was in a highly dilapidated state.
The road joins Kawama and Kamatipa residential areas to the Chingola-Kitwe high way in Kitwe.
He said the contract for the construction of the road and some other township roads in the constituency has already been signed and the works will begin at the end this rain season.
Meanwhile, Mr. Musenge has ordered Kitwe City Council to demarcate the plot for Kamatipa Community School where there are land ownership wrangles between the school PTA and a nongovernmental organization (NGO) called Voice of the Youths Project of Zambia which claims to own the piece of land.
He also directed the police to ensure that the members of the named NGO do not harass the pupils and teachers at the school.
The minister further directed the Ministry of Education to work out modalities to ensure that the school was taken over by government.
Mr. Musenge, who toured the school in the company of Kitwe District Education Board Secretary, said it was the desire of government that even the vulnerable children in society have access to good quality education.
He said government will send trained teachers to the school once it was taken over and ensure that the untrained teachers were trained.
