Govt. assures of quality health services
Chipata, February 15, 2013, ZANIS — Government has assured people of Chama district in Muchinga province of improved health service delivery by taking it as closer to the people in all the communities.
Chama District Commissioner Josphat Lombe explained that the opening of a health facility which is located about 50 kilometers away from Chama town, in Chama North Constituency is evidence enough of government’s determination to the delivery of quality health services
Speaking when he officially opened Kamfutu Health Post in Chama yesterday, Mr. Lombe expressed sadness that most people in the area still walk long distances to access medical services.
Mr. Lombe stated that the health facility will go a long way in helping people living along the Zambia-Malawi border area to have access to health care services.
Mr. Lombe further said that people living along the area will no longer walk long distances to access health care hence bettering their lives.
He disclosed that the opening of Kamfutu Health Post fulfills the Patriotic Fronts governmnet’s promise to open the facility once elected in to power.
He said government has massive developmental plans in the pipeline to develop the district hence the need to be supported by all residents.
The DC further assured the people that all rural health centres under construction in the district will be completed and opened soon.
