Govt. to reward youth entrepreneurs
Kitwe, February 8th, 2013, ZANIS —- Government says it will this year award youths with exceptional entrepreneurship skills in an effort to encourage them to engage in business activities that would make them productive and contribute to the economic development of the country.
The youths with be rewarded on the Youth Day Celebrations following some District and Provincial Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Expositions at which they will showcase their innovations and entrepreneurship skills.
Those who will be selected from the provincial expositions will compete at the national exposition in Lusaka where the top ten exhibitors will selected and be presented awards by Youth and Sports Minister during the Youth Day Commemorations on March 12.
Ten prizes will be given at the national exposition with the highest prize pegged at KR 12,000.00.
This is according to a policy guide on this year’s Youth Day Commemorations released by the Ministry of Youth and Sport obtained by ZANIS in Kitwe today.
Meanwhile acting Kitwe District Administrative officer Abdon Champo has implored organizers of the event in the district to organize it with passion, as volunteers.
Mr. Champo said officers should be willing to offer themselves for service aimed at developing the nation as it was only Zambians who will bring meaningful development to the country.
He also urged adults in society to be role models to the youths through good deeds.
