State of roads worry DC
Mungwi, February 7, ZANIS ———Mungwi District Commissioner Joyce Chanda has expressed concern over the deplorable state of the roads in the area.
Ms Chanda said this when Gender and Child Development Deputy Minister Esther Banda paid a courtesy call on her at her office.
She said officers in the district have been finding it difficult to monitor development projects as the roads have become impassable.
Ms Chanda revealed that many roads in Mungwi district have not been worked on for a long time, saying once the roads are worked on it will be easy for the district administration to conduct monitoring and evaluation of all the developmental projects in the area.
The District Commissioner also appealed to government to procure vehicles for officers in the district.
Ms Chanda disclosed that the district currently has only an ambulance which is used for other programs.
And Ms Banda who acknowledged the complaint as being genuine said government is doing everything possible to maintain the road network in the country.
She also said that the President’s launch of the link Zambia eight thousand is meant to answer some of the citizens concerns and develop the road network in the country.
