President Michael Sata has declared three days of national mourning in honor of the late Jethro Mukenge Mutti, former Cabinet Minister for North-Western province in the UNIP government.
President Sata said the period of national mourning will be with effect from today, Tuesday 22nd January 2012.
This is contained in a media statement released to ZANIS in Lusaka today by Acting Secretary to the Cabinet Peter Kasande.
He said during this period all flags will fly at half mast, and all radio and television stations, should play solemn music between 06:00 hours and 18:00.
He added that all activities of entertainment nature should therefore be postponed or cancelled.
The late Mr. Mutti will be buried in Namilangi village in Kaoma tomorrow Wednesday 23rd January, 2013, while Church service is expected to take place this afternoon at 14:00 hours at the Cathedral of the Child Jesus in Lusaka.
