The Zambia Rugby Football Union (ZRFU) has announced the appointment of Musonda Kaminsa of Lusaka Rugby Club as head coach for the National Sevens National squad and Humphrey Chisulo of Kansanshi Rugby Club as Head coach for the Nationals 15s squad.
The appointments which are with immediate effect were made during the ZRFU Executive committee meeting held in Kitwe at the weekend.
ZANIS sports reports that this is according to a press statement signed by the ZRFU General Secretary Francis Chitambo, today.
Kaminsa takes over from Green Buffaloes’ trainer Richard Kapoma who has been transferred to the national 15s squad as assistant trainer, together with Joshua Lungu from Lusaka Rugby Club.
“ Kapoma last year took over from Kaminsa as head Sevens coach because of the latter’s commitments which affected his schedule with the national team and was not able to carry out national duties, “ says Chjitambo in the statement..
Kaminsa’s assistant coach will be Happy Chipili who has retained his position which was bestowed on him during the appointments made by the ZRFU last year.
The meeting retained Innocent Sakala as head coach for the women’s national squad with his assistants – Louis Tembo and Louis Mwansa.
The under-21 coach will continue as Duncan Nyirenda from Green Buffaloes and will be assisted by Wesley Musukwa from Mufulira.
Philip Dongo, the chairman for the national schools association will continue as head coach for the Under-19s, Under-18s and schools and his assistants are Billy Sinyangwe from Prisons and Edward Chisenga from Green Eagles
