A Chadiza woman in her mid-thirties has been left homeless after her house was set ablaze gutting all her belongings valued at more than KR1, 000 were burnt to ashes.
Confirming the development to ZANIS in Chadiza today, Chamandala Area Councilor Zakeyo Phiri said that this was the second time that Tisiyenji Phiri of Chipangula village in Chief Mlolo has lost all her property through an inferno.
The Councilor disclosed that the woman, who is a mother of six children and on separation with her husband, went to cultivate in her maize field about 5 km away from the village when later in the afternoon between 1400 hours and 1600 hours the house was set ablaze.
The people who were in the village tried their best to put off the fire but it was all in vain as the most of the people were out in the fields.
The matter has since been reported to Chanida Border Police for further investigations as it is believed that the person who burnt the house last year and was not caught may have repeated the cruel act.
Ms Phiri has since called for the law to take its course by apprehending the suspect and appealed to well-wishers to come to her aid.
