The opposition National Restoration Party (NAREP) has u-turned from its earlier statement that the Patriotic Front government has failed the people of Zambia.
This follows President Michael Sata’s Press Aide George Chellah who has asked NAREP leader Elias Chipimo to provide alternative options on his recent statement to journalists that the PF has failed the people of Zambian in many areas of development
On Thursday NAREP leader Elias Chipimo told journalists that the PF administration has failed in many areas of development a move which prompted Mr Chellah to describe the statement as wild.
NAREP, National Secretary Mike Muyawala said in a statement issued to ZANIS in Lusaka today that his party’s leader only accused the PF of placing priority on triggering by-elections and the harassing of political opponents.
Mr Muyawala said the recent arrest of Movement for Multiparty Democracy leader Nevers Mumba and other opposition members as being politically motivated.
He said his party will soon identify possible developmental areas which it feels the PF government has not performed according to the people of Zambia.
Mr Muyawala however retreated that his party’s wish is not to see the PF fail the people of Zambia in bringing meaningful and vibrant development.
