THE Ndola High Court is this month-end expected to move to Dangote Industries Limited site, to assess the concrete making machine that allegedly crushed Martin Chola to death while he was cleaning it last year.
The concrete making machine is property of a contractor, Lock Seed Company.
This is in a matter in which Cornelius Mutale, 29, is charged with manslaughter.
Ndola High Court judge Mubanga Kondolo granted the application to the state on Monday after two witnesses gave evidence in the matter.
Raphael Kabunda, 42, of Kalumba village in Chief Chiwala’s area testified that the incident happened around midday on the fateful day.
Kabunda told the court that on the material day, Chola was tasked to clean the machine when the accused switched it on without prior notice.
Kabunda narrated that Mutale allegedly turned on the machine while Chola was cleaning it without a pre-notice through an alarm as procedure.
“Some of my colleagues screamed at Mutale indicating that he had crushed Chola and at that point, he turned off the machine.
The fire brigade and the police were called to collect the body,’’ Kabunda said.
Sin Feng Bin also testified in the matter.
“The application is granted and the court will move to the scene on Thursday next week at 09:00 hours,” Judge Kondolo said.
