Lawyers representing UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema who is the petitioner filed an application for an interim order when the matter came up for hearing in chambers on August 23rd morning at the Constitutional Court.

The UPND is hoping that firm instructions will be issued on August 24th when the matter comes up as to when the actual petition will be heard.

President Lungu and the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) are respondents in the petition.
