Opposition UPND president Hakainde Hichilema last night stormed Zambia Police headquarters demanding to know why yesterday live bullets were used on innocent UPND members.

Mr. Hichilema wanted the Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja to explain why UPND members were brutalized in such a manner for merely exercising their democratic right.

And speaking shortly after confronting Mr. Kanganja, Mr. Hichilema told journalists that he had not been given any convincing reasons why the Police was so cruel.

The  visibly annoyed Mr. Hichilema bemoaned high levels of irresponsibility on the part of police officers, saying their conduct yesterday should worry the whole nation.

Mr. Hichilema says Zambians have now every reason to get concerned that they have in fact a leadership that is failing to protect them.

He states that he has firm believe now that the Zambia Police is working for the ruling PF and not for the interest of Zambians.

Mr. Hichilema has disclosed that he is also aware that President Edgar Lungu wants to avoid the general elections that are scheduled for August 11th this year.

He says this explains why President Lungu is allegedly trying to create uncertainty in the Country with the hope the situation would become worse to the extent of him declaring a state of emergency.
