PROMISCUITY drove a Kitwe man to sleeping with his relatives and sisters-in-law and shamelessly justified the act that he was preparing the women for marriage. This prompted his wife, 30, to file for divorce.

Monica Banda told Garneton Local Court senior Local court magistrate Fredrick Ndhlovu that her husband also had sex with his niece and shamelessly justified his action that he was grooming her for marriage.

The two got married in 2000 and have two children.
Banda said in 2005, her sister from the village, visited her and that after four months, she told her that her husband was sexually abusing her.
“One day, she asked me not to sleep and my husband woke up in the night and went to her room. I followed him,” she said.
