Wife returns to find husband married to another woman

A 36-YEAR-OLD woman of Lusaka’s Chawama township has sued her husband of 18 years for divorce because he has married another woman.
Mercy Bbubala, who appeared in the Chawama Local Court before Senior Local Court Magistrate Juliet Mwila, said problems in the marriage started when she left her matrimonial home to go to the village to visit her relatives.

Bbubala was narrating in a case in which she sued her husband, Bernard Ntilila, 45, of Lusaka West area for divorce. The couple got married in 1997 and has six children together. Bride price was paid.
“When I returned to Lusaka, I discovered that my husband had married another woman. He then ordered me to go and stay with my sister until he was ready to discuss what was happening. He promised that he would be paying house rent and providing financial support for our children,” she said.
