The MMD has expelled its Lunte Member of Parliament Felix Mutati yesterday.

And the MMD National Executive Committee -NEC-  unanimously voted that the proposed alliance with the Patriotic Front -PF- should commence immediately.

MMD leader, Nevers Mumba confirmed the developments to ZNBC News in a telephone interview yesterday.
Dr. Mumba said the decisions were arrived at during a NEC meeting held on today at Konzani Gardens in Lusaka West area of Lusaka,

He said Mr. Mutati has been expelled for his allegedly double-dealing as he has been secretly working with the UPND and that he is listed on a 2016 UPND official calendar as a party official.

Dr. Mumba said the party has also suspended its spokesperson, Raphael Nakachinda pending investigations by the Disciplinary Committee into allegations that he has been working against the party.

He said the MMD NEC unanimously resolved to suspend Mr. Nakachinda after prima facie evidence was presented in the meeting that he has received money to work against the party with known individuals.

And Dr. Mumba said during the meeting, National Secretary, Mwansa Mbulakulima apologised to the NEC for any misunderstandings his recent statements concerning the proposed MMD-PF alliance may have caused.

ZNBC called Mr Mutati on the development but he is yet to issue a statement on his fate.
