Political Scientist Dr. Alex Ng’oma says the country will likely go for a re-run even with political parties forging alliances ahead of the August elections.
Dr. Ng’oma says the formation of political alliances will not eradicate the possibility of going for a re-run presidential election in view of the 50% plus one vote winning threshold.
He notes that it will not be easy for one single political party to secure outright victory in the first round, adding that alliances being formed will do little to avoid a re-run election.
And Dr. Ngóma has maintained that the August elections will be between the UPND and the ruling Patriotic Front.
