Police in Lusaka have opened an inquiry into Kabushi aspiring parliamentary candidate Bowman Lusambo’s complaint over remarks attributed to veteran politician Vernon Mwaanga.
Police spokesperson Charity Munganga-Chanda says Police will address the complaint and concerns raised by Lusambo over Mwaanga’s comments that political parties needed to be vigilant ahead of the 2016 General elections over fears the polls may be rigged.
In an interview with Lusaka’s Hot FM News, Munganga-Chanda could not however state if Mwaanga had beeen summoned.
And when contacted for a comment, Lusambo said he had faith in the Police and had no doubt they would do their job over the issues he had raised.
Lusambo said Mwaanga’s assertions had the potential to undermine the faith Zambians had in the electoral process.
