Chirundu Police officer forges grade 12 certificate

A POLICE officer in Chirundu District has been sued for allegedly forging a grade 12 certificate.
Mulako Naluba, 42, of house number 1005 High Cost residential area, faces three counts of forgery, uttering a false document and obtaining pecuniary advantage.
It is alleged that Naluba between 1994 and December 31, 1999 in Lusaka with intent to defraud or deceive forged a Grade 12 certificate number 880880980 by purporting to show that it was genuinely issued by the Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ).
Naluba is in the second count alleged to have in October 1999 in Lusaka, knowingly and fraudulently uttered a false document, namely, a Grade 12 certificate to Chomba Chaongopa.
In the third count, she is alleged to have between October 1999 and November 28, 2001 in Lusaka by false pretences dishonestly obtained for herself K224,788.18.
The money was remuneration as a warrant constable in the Zambia Police Service, the employment which was secured through the forged certificate.
Principal Resident Magistrate Jennifer Bwalya allocated the matter to Magistrate Faides Hamaundu where Naluba is supposed to take plea.
Naluba, who is on police bond, was, however, not before court.
