Republican President Edgar Lungu has warned that he will not hesitate to drop any government official trying to frustrate government’s developmental agenda.
The Head of State made these remarks at State House this morning during the swearing in ceremony of Ambassador Albert Muchanga as Office of the Vice President Permanent Secretary in charge of Parliamentary Business, Paul Chanda as Ministry of Mines Permanent, Bishop Dr. Edward Chomba as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Energy and Water Development, and Dr. Solomon Jere as High Commissioner to Nigeria.
President Lungu says any senior government official who is not willing to do a service to the nation will do well to step aside and pave way for other people willing to work in various capacities.
President Lungu says some people think the PF Government is a wrong administration to be in office forgetting the various developmental projects being undertaken throughout the country.

He says it is surprising that some people want to frustrate even a national program of the issuance of the National Registration Cards (NRCs), wondering whether they mean well for the nation.
And Mr. Lungu has advised government officials to always inform the people appropriately of the various projects taking place in the country as opposed to keeping quiet.
He says keeping quite is only creating anxieties among the people.
And President Lungu has advised the newly appointed Ministry of Mines Permanent Secretary Paul Chanda to work to the best of his abilities in resolving the challenges the mining sector is facing.
He has also urged the new permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Energy and Water Development Bishop Chomba to ensure that people in the country are supplied with clean and safe drinking water.
President Lungu also took time to counsel Dr. Jere that as he travels to Nigeria he should ensure that women in Zambia learn the best business practices from their counterparts in Nigeria who he says are contributing massively to the development of their economy.
Later the Head of State held a meeting with Pope Francis’ envoy and appealed to the Catholic Church to continue praying for Zambia so that the nation will continue on its path of promoting peace and unity.
And speaking to journalists shortly after the swearing in ceremony, Ministry of Energy and Water Development Permanent Secretary Bishop Dr. Edward Chomba says it is unfair to blame President Lungu over the current energy crisis in the country as it is a natural occurrence.
He has however, pledged to work to the best of his ability in trying to find solutions to the current power deficit in the country.
And Zambia’s High Commissioner designate to Nigeria Dr. Solomon Jere says his mission to that country is to ensure that Zambia benefits from the trade that is taking place in Nigeria.
