Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) Spokesperson Antonio Mwanza says the statement by Copperbelt Police Commissioner, Joyce Kasosa claiming that Police on Friday did not arrest President Edith Nawakwi but merely Cautioned and Warned her is a shameful lie and an embarrassment to the entire Copperbelt Police Command.
Mr. Mwanza in a statement says the truth is that President Nawakwi was arrested, detained for almost three hours and formally warned and cautioned by the police.
Mr. Mwanza cannot believe that Ms Kasosa has opted to lies, out of ignorance and failure to understand what is meant by the term arrest but she is doing so out of the embarrassment that her boss who sent her to unleash police on an innocent mother have made her and her entire command endure.
He says this is why it is important for the police to learn to be professional and refuse to be used by politicians as tools of intimidation and suppression.
He charges that Ms Kasosa has become a PF cadre in uniform.
Mr. Mwanza states that it is pointless for Ms Kasosa to resort to lies to try to cover up for her unethical and unprofessional conduct.
