Higher Education Minister Michael Kaingu has warned that government will not hesitate to dismiss those found wanting at University of Zambia-UNZA and the Copperbelt University.

Dr Kaingu says government wants sanity to prevail at the two public universities.

He said this in a telephone interview with ZNBC news in Lusaka on Wednesday in the wake of the riots sparked by UNZA students on Tuesday night.

Dr Kaingu charged that the students’ riots are instigated by some opposition politicians.

He called on UNZA students to amicably dialogue with government over their grievances.

On Tuesday night police thwarted a riotous procession by some UNZA students calling for increased meal allowances.
