Local Government and Housing Minister Steven Kampyongo has warned that there will be no sacred cows when it comes to bringing to book perpetrators of illegal land allocation regardless of one’s position.
Mr Kampyongo has told Parliament today in a ministerial statement on the illegal land allocation by Council officials that all cases of illegal land allocation will be referred to the Anti Corruption Commission for further investigation and prosecutionKampyongo.

He says has since decided to suspend the holding of elections for the position of Mayor for Livingstone city until further notice when the results of the investigation into illegal land allocation at the council are concluded by the ACC.
Mr Kampyongo says this is in order to avoid bringing the council into further disrepute.
He states that the fight against illegal allocation of land by councils can only be won if all Zambians worked together and reported violators of the law to relevant authorities.
And Mr Kampyongo says the task force on illegal land allocation under the ministry of Home affairs has received funding for demolition of structures erected on illegally acquired land and will soon move in.
