Fourth Republican President Rupiah Banda has called on Zambians to turn up in numbers to commemorate Sundays day of National Prayer, fasting and Reconciliation.
He says as a Christian he will attend the event and called on all Zambians to also spare time to pray.
Mr Banda says Zambians must not take the peace that the country has enjoyed for granted but rather seek the lord.
He says some African countries that are engulfed in chaos are a clear indication of what would happen if people in Zambia take the peace and love the country has enjoyed for granted.
President Edgar Lungu has designated 18th October 2015 as a day for national Prayer, Fasting and Reconciliation.
