Republican President Edgar Lungu says he will remain in office beyond 2016 and that the PF will be in office for quiet sometime.

President Lungu says this is contrary to suggestions that the PF will exit office after next year’s general election.

He says the PF is in office to transform the country’s political landscape.

President Lungu has since advised ministers and PF Members of Parliament to ensure they deliver according to the expectations of the people if they want to be re-adopted on the PF ticket next year.

He says he is looking for people to work with in his next government and that it is important that MPs and ministers go back to the people and listen to their needs.

He states that no amount of sweet talk or bribery will make him favor certain individuals to be re-adopted, but that he will consult widely with local people if such individuals deserve another chance or not.

The Head of State says he listens to all the advice that is given to him including those from the opposition, not that he is weak, but that it is his strength to get ideas from Stakeholders.

The Head of State has since encouraged all MPs and Ministers not to relax that the PF will not bounce back to power in 2016 but work even harder in addressing the needs of the people.

President Lungu said this at State House this morning during the swearing in ceremony of Kapembwa Simbao as Communications and Transport Minister, Steven Kampyongo as Ministry of Local Government and Housing Minister, Greyford Monde as Minister of Fisheries and Livestock and Lawrence Sichalwe as Deputy Minister in the Office of the Vice President.
