A three-year-old boy has been burnt to death in Nchelenge District of Luapula Province.
ZANIS reports that Commissioner of Police for Luapula Province Hudson Namachila has confirmed the development in a telephone interview, today.

Mr. Namachila identified the deceased toddler as Humphery Chipili of Malulu village in chief Kambwali’s area.
The incident happened yesterday around 19 43 hours and was reported at the Nchelenge Police Station by the 33-year-old Christopher Shitima of the same village, he said.
“Christopher Shitima aged 33 reported case of fire in which the mother bana Bwalya’s grass thatched house was gutted under unclear circumstances and that a three year old boy died in the ensuing inferno,” the Commissioner of Police said.
He said the mother later alerted the officers who rushed to the scene of the accident.
Commissioner Namachila said the remains of the boy could not even be put into the mortuary because it was charred into ashes.
An autopsy will be conducted before burial.
