Lungu draws nation’s attention

Republican President Edgar Lungu will today draw the attention of the entire nation as he delivers his inaugural State of the Nation address during the ceremonial opening of the fifth session of the eleventh National Assembly, amidst economic challenges facing the country.
Stakeholders will pay particular attention to details of how the government intends to realign its economic policies in view of the economic challenges facing the country.

 

President Lungu is expected to outline both long and short term measures government is putting in place to stem the continued depreciation of the Kwacha against major currencies and how its addressing the power deficit the country is facing which has resulted in increased load shedding.
Stakeholders will also be interested to hear from the President how the country will move forward with regards the enactment of the new constitution.
The Head of State is also expected give policy direction for his administration going forward, also give a hint of the policy measures expected to be contained in the 2016 National Budget expected to be presented in October.
President Lungu is also expected to highlight some of the achievements the PF government has made since coming to power in 2011.
