MY goal is to get back to my best, but that comes with time, says Emmanuel Mayuka.

Mayuka, who has just joined French Ligue 2 side, Metz FC, said he was happy to score on his debut.

He said his focus was to retain his form.

The former English Premiership side Southampton player said he would take “a step at a time” as he starts his career in France.

“It was good but I still got a long way to go. The most important thing is for me to get back to my very best and that comes with time. I am slowly getting there, I am taking everything one step at a time; my main goal is to get back to my best, that’s all,” said Mayuka.
Last Friday, Mayuka came on as a substitute in the 69th minute to help his team collect maximum points.

He came in place of Amidio Balde, and it only took him four minutes to put his side in the lead.

Mayuka set a record of scoring his first goal at the club on his debut and as a substitute.

His career saw him play for Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv, Swiss club BSC Young Boys, Southampton and French side Sochaux.
