I discovered my daughter,15 was raped when she was 7months pregnant

A 20-YEAR OLD Harare man appeared in court on Tuesday charged with raping and impregnating his brother’s 15-year- old daughter. The man, from Glen View 3 in Harare, appeared before Harare regional magistrate Mr Noel Mupeiwa. He was remanded in custody. Mr Mupeiwa advised him to apply for bail at the High Court.

The court heard that the 15-year-old girl is now seven months pregnant. The prosecutor Ms Tinashe Makiya is alleging that the man went into the girl’s room at night sometime last year and started fondling her breasts.

The girl threatened to scream and the man fled. He later took advantage of the absence of the girl’s parents and raped the minor. The court heard that the incestuous relationship continued until August this year.

It is alleged that on August 8, the girl’s father suspected that his daughter was pregnant. He ordered the girl’s mother to examine her.

The girl opened up to her mother leading to her uncle’s arrest. In a separate incident, a 34 year old Harare man appeared before magistrate Mr Francis Mapfumo charged with raping a mentally-challenged woman.

Tichaona Mbiriri of 788 Old Canaan in Highfield was denied bail.

 

 

Mbiriri was caught red-handed being intimate with the mentally-challenged woman at around 8pm along High Glen Road near Greatstride College in Harare. A passer-by who witnessed the incident, Peter Mandaza, dragged Mbiriri to the police.

He is expected back in court on September 21.
