Ref Sikazwe to officiate at the 2018 World Cup

KAPIRI Mposhi referee, Janny Sikazwe will next week leave for Chile to attend a FIFA training course for referees who will officiate at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

 

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) communications manager Nkweto Tembwe said in an interview that Sikazwe was selected by FIFA to attend a one-week training course for match officials.
Tembwe said Sikazwe would be the pride of Zambia as he represents the nation and FAZ at the FIFA World Cup in Russia.

 

“He will be leaving for Chile next week and we can only wish him all the best as he embarks on this great journey,” he said.
Sikazwe will also officiate at the FIFA 2015 Under-17 World Cup tournament in Chile from October 17 to November 8.

 

“FAZ is happy that referees have continued to make a standing at the world stage. Sikazwe will also be part of the referees that will officiate at the 2015 Under-17 FIFA World Cup tournament in Chile,” he said.
Sikazwe also officiated at the 2013 and 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments in South Africa and Equatorial Guinea, respectively.

 

He was also at the 2012 AFCON finals co-hosted by Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.
